SQE1 · FLK1
FLK1 practice questions
FLK1, Functioning Legal Knowledge 1, is the first of the two SQE1 assessments. It covers business law and practice, dispute resolution, contract, tort, the legal system of England and Wales (including constitutional and administrative law and EU law), and legal services. Ethics and professional conduct can be tested throughout.
How FLK1 is set
From January 2027, FLK1 has 170 single best answer questions, answered in two sessions of 85 questions, each lasting 2 hours 33 minutes. The SRA splits the subjects between the sessions: business law and practice, dispute resolution and legal services in the first, and contract, tort and the legal system in the second. Within each session the questions come in a mixed order. The SRA's announcement has the detail.
